Story

Growing up, my mom had a hand-painted wooden sign she’d pull out for each birthday, placing it at the table in front of the special person’s plate. The sign was the perfect size: not too big for a table and easily stored when you’re done. It even had little hinges so you could fold it down to keep it safe. cont..

Pulling the sign out of the cupboard meant celebration, and the rest of us would pick flowers from the yard, taking extra effort to make the birthday person feel special.

For years I've been working to recreate moments like this for my own home—a beautiful piece that is easy to store, simple to customize, and celebrates other special occasions too.

I got more serious about making a real prototype (thanks, Dad) this year when I had my first baby. I wanted a reusable, heirloom decor piece used for fun occasions. What we came up with was Ripple: my collection of signs similar to what I grew up loving. All are handmade and hand painted on wood, giving each one a little soul and personality.

I hope what we’ve made helps you and your family make small moments a little more special for years to come.

To get started, we suggest picking a ‘set’. Customize your sign by choosing the sign design, color of candle holders, base wood and taper candle color. You can create a new look by changing out a few components or just the candle color.
